I photographed Ana & Scott’s wedding back in May ‘07 and was pleasantly surprised and honored when I got a call from Ana inviting me to take some photos of their beautiful new baby girl Camila. It was sooo great meeting up with these two again and seeing how their lives have now been blessed with this amazing little gift.
Isn’t this face precious? …that’s of course a rhetorical question :)
We took a short break and Ana was able to get Camila to fall asleep for a little while, but I guess maybe she was anxious to get back to the photographs because the nap didn’t last very long.
A couple of shots of Ana & Scott with their little bundle of joy.
Baby Face(s) – I guess Camila has recently started having an infatuation with trying to get her entire hand in her mouth.
One more of the beautiful family.
Thank you SO much Ana & Scott!!! Hope to see the three of you again soon.
Last month I had the pleasure of joining fellow wedding photographer Diana Kay to shoot Joni & Laddu’s wedding in gorgeous Carmel. Here are a few of the shots I got while spending time in this beautiful town.
The ring bearer about to give Laddu a high-five at the start of the ceremony. Well it was a high-five for the kid but a low-five for Laddu :)
It was an totally overcast day, but a really beautiful ceremony in the beach setting.
I met Brian (www.guitaristbriangore.wordpress.com) at small show he played at here in San Francisco and just took a few snapshots for fun with my cheap camera. He saw a few of them and liked them enough to invite me to photograph this house concert he did with another singing partner Susan Zelinsky whose beautiful voice is a great match to Brian’s great guitar playing.
Brian’s buddy Nina also joined in for a few songs and brought along his very cute dog Tootsie. Just look at those irresistible eyes :-)
Amy and Jon are a terrific couple. I had the pleasure of joining and shooting with Jennifer Skog who was the photographer who volunteered to shoot this 2008 wedding for me. Here’s some of my favorite shots from the day…
I don’t think this one little girl liked getting her picture taken ;-)
Lighting is something that’s key for photographers to understand in order to create beautiful photographs. While natural light is fantastic, sometimes we all need to add some light to the subject. This is especially true with the diverse environments encountered at a wedding. Often the key is to keep the lighting balanced enough to look natural even when flash is being used. Neil van Neikerk is a master at flash photography and teaches workshops across the country (www.neilvn.com). I attended one here in San Francisco and learned a ton from just that one day while having a great time with everyone who attended.
Here are a few of the images I got during the shooting portion of the workshop.
Augie Chang is another great photographer who volunteered to shoot one of my weddings in 2008. I got the chance to second shoot with him at Irene & Ren’s super fun wedding.
One very cool surprise was a little performance that their family members put on during the reception dressing up in cool costumes and dancing to some old music. You had to be there to get the full effect but I think you can get a taste of the fun from checking out the show towards the end of this slideshow of my photos from the day that I’ll post here first.
Because the slideshow images are at a low resolution, here’s some of my faves…
Here’s one shot from that funtastic show that their family put on at the reception.
